Streets of Your Town

The Streets of Your Town encourages participants to collectively and collaboratively build a series of new neighbourhoods, to construct a place for new households to live and thrive together.

Whilst groups work separately on a 300m x 300m scaled local neighbourhood piece they come together at the completion of their individual activity to collaboratively construct a new district. This illustrates the diversity and self-organisation principles of city growth. Participants are able to see commonalities and differences of the new district as a series of distinct yet connected places emerge.

Working with Creating Communities Australia we engaged with local residents and Kent Street High School to generate future visions and discuss preferences and priorities for suburbs in transition.
